Session Information

Metasurfaces, as artificial two-dimensional structures, have become a transformative technology across numerous fields. Their appeal lies in their ultra-thin nature and unparalleled design flexibility, which enable precise, multi-dimensional control over classical waves.
The field is now in a vibrant state of rapid development. Research has moved beyond static wave manipulation to dynamic metasurfaces that can be actively tuned or passively switched. Their integration with other functional devices to form hybrid systems is also a key focus. At the fundamental physics level, exploration of non-Hermitian and topological physics within metasurfaces has led to the discovery of novel and intriguing wave phenomena. This Session aims to capture this dynamism by presenting cutting-edge research from various disciplines that utilize the versatile metasurface platform.

We welcome original research talks and overviews. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • metasurface-enabled multi-dimensional light field control
  • metasurface-based optical micromanipulation
  • metalens imaging
  • metasurfaces for advanced optical communications
  • bilayer metasurface and beyond
  • quantum metasurfaces
  • topological photonic crystals and metasurfaces
