Topological photonics is an interdisciplinary fusion of topological physics and photonics. It enables robust light manipulation, effectively mitigating the interference of defects and scattering, and opens new avenues for advanced optical technologies. This focus session relies on versatile platforms such as photonic crystals and metamaterials, highlighting the latest advancements in both theoretical predictions and experimental realizations of topological phases. It encompasses key areas including topological band engineering, topological lasers/waveguides, artificial gauge fields, as well as emerging frontiers like non-Hermitian topological states and higher-order topological states.
