Session Information

We invite submissions for a dedicated session focused on the rapidly expanding field of active and functional metadevices. As metasurfaces transition from static optical elements to dynamic, integrated components, they are reshaping the landscape of light generation, manipulation, and detection, etc.
This session aims to bring together researchers to discuss the full spectrum of metadevice technologies. We welcome contributions covering theoretical modeling, fabrication techniques, and experimental characterizations.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Emitters: Metasurface-enhanced LEDs, miniaturized lasers, and thermal emitters; beam shaping at the source.
  • Modulators: Tunable and reconfigurable metasurfaces (using phase-change materials, electro-optic effects, or MEMS); high-speed optical modulation.
  • Sensors: Refractive index sensing, biosensing, and gas sensing using nanostructured surfaces.
  • Detectors: Metasurface-integrated photodetectors, spectropolarimetric detection, and infrared detection enhancement.

  • We encourage authors to submit work that bridges the gap between fundamental nanophotonics and practical device applications.
